What Is An Eye Bolt?

Eyebolts are also called eye screws, eyebolts or eyelets, which are bolts with a ring on one end. They are fasteners and connectors. Eyebolts are used as a fulcrum in the lifting process to lift various materials, ensure the firm connection between the lifted object and the lifting equipment, and ensure the stability and safety of the lifting.

How To Produce Eye Bolts?

Its entire body is usually made by forging process, and undergoes normalizing treatment and descaling to ensure that it has good physical properties and appearance quality. The forgings have no defects such as overburning and cracks. At the same time, the eyebolts also pass the hardness test to ensure that they have sufficient hardness and strength in working conditions.

What Are Eye Bolts Used For?

Eyebolts are widely used in many industries due to their safety and stability. In the port and shipbuilding industries, they are used to lift and fix large structural parts and cargoes; in the power and petrochemical industries, they are used to install and maintain various equipment; in the mining and railway construction industries, they are used to lift and fix tracks and bridges; in the construction industry, they are used to lift and fix steel structure frames and roofs.

What Are Common Eye Bolts?

DIN580 eyebolt

The metric DIN 580 eyebolt has a thread on one end and a ring on the other. It is commonly used in rigging equipment for vertical or angled loading. The diameter ranges from M6 to M64, and the common material is C15/C15e, which is processed by die forging and can reach grade 8.8 after heat treatment. The surface of the DIN580 eyebolt is electro-galvanized or hot-dip galvanized, and different surfaces can be customized according to the usage scenario.

JIS1168 eye bolt

The appearance of the metric JIS1168 eyebolt is similar to that of DIN580, with one end threaded and the other end ring, but the applicable standards and thread types are different. The implementation standard of the JIS1168 eyebolt is JIS B 1168 – 1994. The JIS B1168 eyebolt uses a reverse thread (pitch, diameter and thread length), while the DIN 580 eyebolt uses a positive thread. The diameter ranges from M8 to M64. The common material is Q235. The die forging process is electroplated with yellow zinc.

 US Type eye bolt

US Type eye bolts are imperial threads, mainly include G275 wood eyebolts, G277 eyebolts, G291 eyebolts, G279 eyebolts, etc. They implement American standards, that is, Crosby standards. The common material is 45# steel. They are die forged and have electroplated, hot-dip galvanized, and original colors on the surface.
